After shockingly finding herself in the bottom two this past weekend, X-Factor hopeful Cher Lloyd is said to be devastated and now firmly believes that she stands absolutely no chance of winning the competition as she fears that she has been hit by the dreaded “bottom two curse” which says that a contestant cannot win the X-Factor if they have ever been forced into a final showdown performance.

According to a source close to the show who was talking with the Daily Mirror, the young singer is said to be devastated…

‘Cher was devastated to be in the sing-off. She knows no-one has ever won after being in the bottom two. She told her family it felt like her dream was over.’

But, according to former X-Factor winner Alexandra Burke, the curse doesn’t exist…

‘I know there is a rule that says if you are in the bottom two you don’t stand a chance to win. But I don’t think that is correct because JLS were in the bottom two and made it to the finals.’

You could see clearly that Cher took it personally on Sunday night. She looked like she was about to cry at any moment. But, this thing about the curse, I wouldn’t read too much into it at this stage in the competition, we public are a fickle bunch and at any given moment we can change our opinions on someone.
