Capcom Confirm There Will Be No Playable Demo For Marvel vs Capcom 3
According to video game publisher Capcom, their heavily anticipated fighter Marvel vs. Capcom will not be getting a playable demo prior to its release next year.
Just like Street Fighter IV before it, gamers are going to have to take a gamble on whether or not Capcom have got the game just right.
Also, Capcom’s Christian Svensson also defended the decision to release new characters just four weeks after its release as part of a premium DLC pack. Talking to EventHubs, the vice president of strategic planning said…
“Suffice to say, there are differing views on DLC. Everyone needs to decide whether there’s value in the offering or not and make your purchasing decisions accordingly. That’s true not just of MvC3, but of all games. As I’ve stated in prior interviews, DLC is part of the business model these days given the massive costs of production and can be the difference between a profitable product and an unprofitable product.”
Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 hits the home consoles on February 18 in Europe.
<<<THOUGHTS>>>
More than any other game genre, I think the one-on-one tournament fighting genre needs playable demos. I can honestly say with my hand on my heart that I will not be buying Marvel vs. Capcom 3 until I have actually sat down and played it for myself. So, unless one of my friends buys it then I guess I won’t be getting it.
