It seems that as far as Christian Bale is concerned, the upcoming The Dark Knight Rises will be the last time he gets to wear the Batman costume.

Speaking at a recent press conference to promote his latest movie The Fighter, Bale suggested that for him at least, there will be no more Batman movies after The Dark Knight Rises…

“I believe, unless Chris (Nolan) says different, this will be the last time I’m playing Batman.”

He then went on to reveal that when it comes to details about The Dark Knight Rises he is almost as much in the dark as the rest of us…

“Chris will let me know what I need to know when I need to know it. I probably know a little bit more than some other people out there, but I think most people would be surprised at how little I do know.”

I see The Dark Knight Rises being the last Batman movie for both Nolan and Bale. The longer they continue dabbling with the Batman franchise the more chance they have of going Sam Raimi on us.
