According to a source close to Bethesda, the video game developer is currently working on a direct sequel to The Elder Scrolls IV.

The source apparently revealed to Eurogamer the news of The Elder Scroll V even though at this moment in time, developer Bethesda has refused to comment.

But according to Eurogamer, their source…

“Not only confirmed that the game is in current production, but also spoke briefly about the content–with fantasy-sounding phrases like Dragon Lord, something with The Blades–and that voice acting for the characters in the game is currently happening in the weeks to follow.”

Wow, now an Elder Scrolls V is something I could really get excited about. Hopefully we’ll get some official confirmation soon. The fact that Bethesda chose to use “no comment” instead of outright denying the validity of the claims suggests to me that Eurogamer’s source was telling them the truth.
