Kristy Swanson Wants In On Buffy Remake

Kristy Swanson, who played Buffy the Vampire Slayer way before Sarah Michelle Geller in the 1992 movie has revealed that the upcoming reboot has her full support and that she is also available if the producers are interested…

“Let Buffy live; why not? If they wanted me to be a part of it, I think that would be fantastic and that it would be a blast,”

Swanson’s attitude toward to the remake is in stark contrast to franchise creator Joss Whedon who responded to the news that Warner Bros had snapped up the rights to the movie by telling E! that…

“This is a sad, sad reflection on our times, when people must feed off the carcasses of beloved stories from their youths — just because they can’t think of an original idea of their own,”

Swanson though thinks the remake is a good idea…

“There are die-hard Joss Whedon fans who absolutely love him to death, and rightly so; he’s a brilliant man, no doubt. I love everything Buffy. I don’t care who’s doing it.”

<<<THOUGHTS>>>

Why would Joss Whedon be so against a Buffy reboot? I mean, it doesn’t suddenly stop his TV series from being a cult classic does it? Surely the only reason he is against it must be because he is worried that the new Buffy will be better than his Buffy?

  1. no reboot says:

Uh there will never be a Buffy like Sarah Michelle Gellar
she rocked the part & kicked a** doing it so I highly doubt
the new Buffy will even compare to her & that Joss will be
worried. It sounds like a lot of the original cast agree on not
    doing a reboot w/out Joss & I agree w/them b/c he was the
creator of the series & I don’t see the movie getting very
much praise & think it will go straight to DVD w/out Joss’
    creativity adding to it
