Ubisoft Announce New Assassin’s Creed Game For 2011

Ubisoft exec Geoffroy Sardin has confirmed that another Assassin’s Creed game will be released next year.

Speaking with MCV, Sardin, who is the head of marketing for Ubisoft said…

“Yes, Yves Guillemot, Ubisoft CEO mentioned it last week in our financials – and more details will be forthcoming. But what I can say is that next year we will have another big Assassin’s Creed game.”

Sardin then revealed that the recently released Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood sold over a million copies in less than a week in Europe alone…

“If you compare the 1m in a week with last year’s Assassin’s Creed II sales, this is a big jump – so it’s a great achievement. It’s the best launch in the history of Ubisoft’s European sales, and our best-selling launch title ever.”

<<<THOUGHTS>>>

Another Assassin’s Creed game? That means when we get our hands on next year’s AC, we will have had four games in five years. Surely that’s overkill? Personally I don’t see why there is such demand for this franchise. The story is awful.
