New Spider-Man Andrew Garfield Talks About Physiques And Spandex
The new Spider-Man Andrew Garfield has been talking with The Guardian about the production schedule for the upcoming Spider-Man reboot and revealed how excited his is to be playing the iconic web-slinger…
“We started shooting two weeks ago and then we have Christmas off. Then we’re back into it for, gosh, a fair bit of time… I’m going to have to hibernate into this character for at least four or five months. I feel like a kid in my pyjamas. I can only say how it feels and it feels pretty special. It feels like a dream realised and a fantasy realised. Again, I don’t take it lightly and I feel incredibly lucky that I get to wear spandex for the next couple of months.”
He went on to add that he is working out a lot to improve his physique and look more like a superhero…
“I think Spider-Man needs strength, but Peter Parker is still a teenager, you know? That’s a very tender balance to figure out. It’s very specific what we’re trying to achieve in terms of body type and the feeling of that. Rest assured, there’s a lot of people helping me with that because I have no discipline in that respect. My father’s a swimming coach and I kind of rebelled against that very early on. Any kind of exercise routine has to be cracked with a pretty firm whip.”
<<<THOUGHTS>>>
I still can’t buy into Andrew Garfield playing a teenage Peter Parker.
