Oprah Promises TV Channel Without Clunk
Oprah Winfrey has promised that her new TV channel will offer thought-provoking entertainment instead of filling the airwaves with nonsense like other channels do.
In an interview with Parade, Winfrey said…
“It is mindful television. I think so much of television is a minefield that just zaps your energy, wastes your time. What I want to do is build a channel that is a respite for your mind, an oasis of stimulation, that you come away from with little pieces of light. I’m aiming for a moment where somebody could say, ‘I never thought of it that way before’. I just love that.”
The Oprah Winfrey Network launches on January 1st.
<<<THOUGHTS>>>
Oh, if you’re trying to avoid shows that “zap your energy and wastes your time” I can now see why you cancelled your own show.
Seriously, does anyone expect The Oprah Winfrey Network to be anything more than a shopping channel with high production values?
Oprah’s new channel is just going to be full of reviews of books we don’t need to read and new age therapies that should not get any airtime on any channel.
