The Avengers Production To Hit New Mexico

According to a statement issued by the Governor of New Mexico Bill Richardson, the upcoming Avengers production will take place in his state.

Production is set to begin in April and last until September of next year. Here’s an excerpt of the statement…

“I’m announcing this as a Christmas present of sorts to the people of New Mexico. This is a perfect example of the incredible job creation, economic impact and global visibility this industry has brought our state over the past eight years, and of the need to keep it moving forward.”

As well as New Mexico, the Avengers production is expected to visit Michigan and New York.

<<<THOUGHTS>>>

Hmmm, why New Mexico? I can see the Thor movie shooting in New Mexico because of the teaser at the end of Iron Man 2 but why for the Avengers movie?

Unless, now I might sound stupid here but is New Mexico where SHIELD are based?

A quick FYI, I just had a geek butterfly flap around in my stomach as I wrote this post. Reading about locations makes the Avengers project that little bit more real.
