Conan O’Brien Apologizes For Sarah Palin Sketch
American chatshow host Conan O’Brien has issued an official apology for the recent Sarah Palin skit which was performed on his show.
The skit, which saw Sarah Palin hunting Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer was remarkably similar to a sketch performed on the Jimmy Kimmel Live show earlier in the month. According to O’Brien, he and his team were unaware t of the similarities between the two sketches…
“We weren’t aware. This is not the first time this kind of thing has happened.”
Conan airs every weeknight on TBS.
<<<THOUGHTS>>>
To be honest, I’m surprised that this sort of thing doesn’t happen more often. With the writing teams behind Letterman, Leno, Conan, Fallon etc, all working off the same news every night, it is surprising that there aren’t more claims of copying.
There’s no doubt in my mind that the Sarah Palin skit was a genuine accident. There’s no way Conan would purposely rip-off a rival.
