The Mentalist Star Talks Bosses Into Paying Him 30 Million Dollars
The Mentalist star Simon Baker has just finalised a new deal with Warner Bros which will net him more than 30 million dollars for his role as Patrick Jane in the hit TV crime drama.
From season five onwards, Baker will receive a producing credit. The Mentalist is currently in its third season.
On the show, Baker plays Patrick Jane, a retired scam artist who is haunted by the death of his wife and child and who helps his local PD with homicides.
The Mentalist airs in the US on Thursdays on CBS.

Living in the UK it’s sometimes hard to gauge if shows like The Mentalist are big but I guess a 30 million dollar contract for Simon Baker clears up whether or not The Mentalist is a premium show once and for all.
I’ve always preferred The Mentalist to the similar Lie To Me which has just become almost unwatchable with all the jittering, posturing and gurning Tim Roth does as the lead Cal Lightman.
Simon Baker’s portrayal of Patrick Jane is smooth and measured, exactly how you would expect someone with his background to behave like. Lightman, on the other hand, looks like he’s constantly jacked up on amphetamines.
