Tron: Legacy star Michael Sheen has revealed that he is a geek. He admitted that he is completely obsessed with technology to the point that he just has to have the latest gadgets as soon as they are released even though he ultimately ends up breaking them as soon as he gets them out of the box…

“I’m not a secret geek, I’m a completely open geek. I’m cursed with always wanting the latest gadget and breaking it as soon as it gets out of the box, pretty much. It’s because I refuse to read the manuals because I think that I’ll be able to make them work and I never can. I was into sci-fi and fantasy when I was younger but I’ve got more and more into it as I’ve got older, that’s my main interest when I got to watch films or read books,”

I think it’s time now that we stop using the word geek the way we do. Nearly everyone I know can be labelled a geek. If you’ve got an iPod/iPad, a Facebook account, a Twitter feed, an Xbox 360 and more than two sci-fi DVD’s then you could probably call yourself a geek so this celebrity tradition of outing their geekiness means absolutely nothing anymore.
