One of this year’s biggest first person shooters is the Playstation 3 exclusive Killzone 3.

The official release date for Killzone 3 is February 22nd in North America and February 23rd for Europe.

That doesn’t seem too far away does it? Well, for some Killzone fans, that’s ages. If you’re one of those Killzone fans who feel that four weeks is an eternity then developer Guerrilla Games has some good news for you.

Via the official Playstation Blog, they have revealed that an open beta for the FPS will launch on the PSN on February 3rd and players who decide to participate in the beta will have early access to the MP05 ‘Frozen Dam’ multiplayer map as well as be able to sample all three multiplayer modes – Guerrilla Warfare, Warzone and Operations.

As an added bonus beta testers will even be able to play the offline Botzone mode.

Just to reiterate; Killzone 3 is a Playstation 3 exclusive.
