Mortal Kombat Reboot Release Date Revealed

Warner Bros has announced that their Mortal Kombat reboot will be released on April 18th.

April 18th falls on a Monday this year and the clever marketing team at Warner Bros have been quick to call the release day ‘Mortal Monday’. Clever eh?

No?

Anyway, the Mortal Kombat reboot has been developed by NetherRealm Studios and will be the ninth title in the Mortal Kombat franchise. The “story” follows immediately after the events of Mortal Kombat: Armageddon and then shoots backwards to the time period of the original Mortal Kombat trilogy.

So far, seventeen fighters have been confirmed for the Mortal Kombat reboot…

Cyrax, Ermac, Jade, Jax, Johnny Cage, Kitana, Kung Lao, Mileena, Nightwolf, Raiden, Reptile, Scorpion, Sektor, Shao Kahn, Sindel, Sonya, and Sub-Zero.

Playstation 3 owners will get an extra special treat when they pick up their copies of Mortal Kombat as it has been revealed that the PS3 version will include God of War star Kratos as a bonus character.

The Mortal Kombat reboot will be released on both the PS3 and Xbox 360.
