Rockstar’s heavily anticipated video game L.A. Noire will be released on the Playstation 3 on May 17th.

Developed for Rockstar Games by Team Bondi, L.A. Noire will see gamers take control of Cole Phelps, a LA cop based in 1940’s Los Angeles who has to track down a serial killer.

It is expected that while the US will get their hands on the makers of Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption latest blockbuster on the 17th of May, UK gamers will have to wait until three days later when it hits UK retailers on the 20th.

L.A. Noire will also be released on the Xbox 360 after it was originally thought that it would be a Playstation exclusive as it was reported early on in its development cycle that Sony Entertainment were bankrolling the game’s production.

L.A. Noire has been in various stages of development since 2004 and was previously listed for release in 2009 but subsequently got pushed back.
