Socom 4 Will Make A Great Birthday Present

Socom 4 is an exclusive for PS3 as usual. The Socom fan base which is many has been chomping at the bit for Zipper to get back in the game and bring them the next installment of this highly anticipated release. I have also have been waiting with baited breath for Zipper to release Socom 4 as I have been playing the game since conception back in the PS2 days. It was announced yesterday that Zipper would release Socom 4 on April 19th, 2011, which is 3 days after my birthday.

The information had me jumping for joy and mad as hell at the same time. The mixed emotions stemmed from thoughts of my opening a birthday gift from a loved one or maybe Zipper themselves three days before the official release date right on my birthday, so I could be the first to play my favorite game on my birthday. The mad part comes in to play as I realized that Zipper had not notified me before giving this info up to anyone else and felt quite rejected, and then a bit angry. No one writing for any gaming site has more time in the Socom series than I do, and one would think that would count for something.

All that aside, I am tickled pink that we finally have a firm release date from Zipper. One thing which has not been expressed by anyone is whether or not an offline campaign would be included in the latest release. Since I will have the game three days before anyone else, that long standing feature by Zipper Socom releases of past would sure come in handy. Slant Six failed to give us an offline inclusion with Combined Assault and the friends list and clan lists garbage of jumping around hopefully will be fixed in Socom 4 by Zipper. We will just have to wait and see.

April 16th is my birthday Zipper, don’t forget.
