Uncharted On The PSP2 Will Not Be Developed By Naughty Dog
The other day Sony announced the next PSP which surprisingly isn’t going to be called PSP2, or at least not yet it isn’t, for now it is going by the name of NGP (Next Generation Portable), anyway, one of the biggest surprises at the reveal event was, in my opinion, seeing Uncharted running on the handheld device. Now, an Uncharted game on the new handheld Playstation is hardly a surprise, no, in fact it’s a bit of a no-brainer, what was surprising is that it looked so damn good.
Well, time for another surprise. The version of Uncharted we saw was made by Sony Bend Studio, which fans of Nathan Drake will know are not Naughty Dog, the franchise’s creator.
According to Game Informer, the new Uncharted game, which will not simply be a remake of the first Uncharted adventure but a brand new game is being developed by the same guys behind the PSP title Resistance: Retribution, which admittedly was pretty decent.
Although Naughty Dog, which handles the PS3 Uncharted video games will not have a direct hand in the development of Drake’s handheld adventure, they will be “overseeing” the production to make sure that Sony Bend Studio matches the standards of the Playstation 3 series.
Sony Bend Studios also developed the last Syphon Filter PSP game; Logan’s Shadow which was pretty much universally well-received.
