If I was a betting man then I would put down large sums of money that UK X-Factor judge Cheryl Cole will NOT get a seat on the US version of the X-Factor judging panel when it hits America later in the year.

Well, according to a source talking to the UK Tabloid; The Sun, it seems that Cheryl Cole perhaps won’t land the judging gig, at least for the first season anyway. According to the source, despite the best efforts of Simon Cowell, it seems that American execs are reluctant to gamble on Cole and would prefer to give her seat on the judging panel to someone Americans are more familiar with.

BUT!

There could be a role for her, the source thinks that Cole may become the US version of Sinitta, you know, like a mentor or something…

“Simon desperately wants Cheryl to be a judge but if that’s knocked back by Fox chiefs the next option is to start her as a mentor. It would be a way to test how she’s received in America. Plus viewers would be able to warm to her first, rather than having her thrust upon them by going straight on the panel.”
