File this one under “I thought that was happening anyway…”

Oscar winning British actress Judi Dench has confirmed that she will reprise her role as M in the as-yet-untitled (unless they are planning on calling it Bond 23) 23rd James Bond movie.

Dench made the announcement at the boring sounding South Bank Sky Arts Awards in London the other night. (Man, is it just me or does that sound like a boring evening? Just writing the name nearly put me to sleep…)

Dame Judi has played M since the first Pierce Brosnan Bond movie; GoldenEye back in 1995 and rather strangely, didn’t seem to notice that James Bond completely changed his look. (As an intelligence officer she doesn’t seem very intelligent does she?)

Anyway, for the next Bond movie, Daniel Craig will return as 007 for his third outing while Road To Perdition director Sam Mendes will direct.

James Bond 23 is scheduled for release on November 9th, 2012.
