King Kong star Naomi Watts is making a lot of movies which are based on “true stories” lately. From last year’s Fair Game in which she played real-life CIA agent Valerie Plame who had her cover blown in the White House after her husband became the victim of a Washington witch-hunt after publishing an anti-George Bush editorial, to the upcoming J. Edgar Hoover biopic where she plays the long-serving secretly of the FBI boss; Helen Gandy.

And then there’s the role of Marilyn Monroe in Andrew Dominick’s (Chopper, The Assassination of Jesse Ford By The Coward Robert Ford) Blonde. In an recent interview with Bang Showbiz, Watts was asked if she felt any pressure about portraying Marilyn Monroe to which she replied…

“It’s a huge pressure. We all feel we know her. I’m very, very scared about that.”

But then, she felt the same way when she played the outed CIA agent Valerie Plame last year as evidenced by the response she gave to a similar question regarding her role in Fair Game. Back then she replied with…

“Daunting. I’m a lot more fragile than she is. To me, she seems almost invincible.”
