Alice In Wonderland Star To Appear In Oldboy Directors’ Next Flick?
According to Deadline, Alice in Wonderland star Mia Wasikowska (she played Alice) is in talks to star in Chan-wook Park’s Stoker.
Fans of gory Korean movies will know Chan-wook Park from Oldboy but those of you expecting another sicko flick maybe you might not want to get your hopes up too much as Stoker is about an eccentric teenager (Wasikowska) whose enigmatic yet estranged uncle returns to the family fold after the death of his brother; her father.
Sounds pretty bland of Chan-wook Park doesn’t it?
But this is Park we’re talking about and despite the tame sounding synopsis, I’m sure he’ll deliver something to get our gore glands swelling. (Fingers crossed eh?)
Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps star Carey Mulligan (she played Michael Douglas’s daughter) was originally attached to the role while Jodie Foster was also tipped for the production but as it is right now, both are no longer involved.
The script for Stoker has been written by Prison Break’s Wentworth Miller who has also written Uncle Charlie which he described as …
“a prequel that explores another chapter in the history of a family with a knack for burying secrets as well as bodies.”
Ridley and Tony Scott will produce.
