Jane Fonda Wants To Star In Barbarella Sci-Fi Sequel
Jane Fonda, you know, from those cheesy workout videos, wants to make a sequel to perhaps one of her most iconic movies (in the eyes of sci-fi geeks anyway) Barbarella.
Despite being 73 years young, Fonda revealed to Hero Complex that she has an idea for a sequel to the 1968 cult classic which would see her reprise the role of the sexy comic book star…
“I have a dream—to do a sequel to Barbarella. Not a remake, a sequel! Look, I get shtupped by a blind angel, OK? Let’s just take it from there.”
Robert Rodriguez recently tried to get a Barbarella remake off the ground and in his version he wanted Rose McGowan to play the Fonda role but for whatever reasons, that project wasn’t able to gather any serious momentum.
Fonda’s idea however, like she said, is not a reboot, remake, re-imagining or any other way of saying “we’re starting from scratch” but an actual bona fide sequel which if I’m being honest, sounds a lot more intriguing than a simple big budget re-hash.
