Alice In Wonderland Star To Appear In Oldboy Directors’ Next Flick?

According to Deadline, Alice in Wonderland star Mia Wasikowska (she played Alice) is in talks to star in Chan-wook Park’s Stoker. Fans of gory Korean movies will know Chan-wook Park from Oldboy but those of you expecting another sicko flick maybe you might not want to get your hopes up too much as Stoker is about an eccentric teenager (Wasikowska) whose enigmatic yet estranged uncle returns to the family fold after the death of his brother; her father. Sounds pretty bland of Chan-wook Park doesn’t it? But this is Park we’re talking about and despite the tame sounding synopsis, I’m sure he’ll deliver something to get our gore glands swelling. (Fingers crossed eh?) Wall Street:…

Producer Regrets Absence Of Gays In Star Trek Next Gen

Brannon Braga, producer of TV shows like 24, Flash Forward, the upcoming Terra Nova and of course, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Voyager and Enterprise has revealed to AfterElton that he regrets the decision not to feature gays and lesbians in Star Trek: Next Generation. In the interview, Braga reveals that there were many discussions about featuring homosexual characters… “It was a shame… I’m talking about the Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, and there was a constant back-and-forth about, ‘Well, how do we portray the spectrum of sexuality?’ There were people who felt very strongly that we should be showing casually, you know, just two guys together in the background in Ten Forward. At the…

In an interview with Collider, Scream writer Kevin Williamson kind of talked about the upcoming Scream 4 and revealed that he thinks the time is right to make another Scream movie as recently at least, slasher flicks haven’t exactly been of the highest quality… “We haven’t had a lot of straight-ahead slasher flicks in this generation. We’re not really doing the teenager horror film right now, so maybe it’s time. I don’t see a lot of them coming out, and the ones that have come out haven’t been that successful.” The Vampire Diaries writer wrote the first draft for Scream 4 but was reportedly annoyed when Ehren Kruger was commissioned to do some re-writes after…

T4 Presenter Steve Jones Linked With US X-Factor Hosting Gig

Welsh TV presenter Steve Jones seems to think that he is one of the front-runners to present the upcoming US version of X-Factor. In an interview with The Sun, Jones, the former T4 presenter revealed that his name is firmly in the hat for the job… “I’m hearing good things. I don’t want to jinx anything by thinking I’ve got it. One day I hear it’s going my way, one day I’m less sure. I’d love to do it, I really would.” The Sun added that Steve Jones has more of a chance of landing the coveted presenting gig than UK X-Factor host Dermot O’Leary simply because he is considered “better looking” than the Irishman….

Judi Dench Onboard For James Bond 23

File this one under “I thought that was happening anyway…” Oscar winning British actress Judi Dench has confirmed that she will reprise her role as M in the as-yet-untitled (unless they are planning on calling it Bond 23) 23rd James Bond movie. Dench made the announcement at the boring sounding South Bank Sky Arts Awards in London the other night. (Man, is it just me or does that sound like a boring evening? Just writing the name nearly put me to sleep…) Dame Judi has played M since the first Pierce Brosnan Bond movie; GoldenEye back in 1995 and rather strangely, didn’t seem to notice that James Bond completely changed his look. (As an intelligence…
