If it were not for satellite communication, the rest of the world would be left in the dark as to what is going on in Egypt. The government has turned off internet communication in that country with basically denying protocol that allowed Egypt to connect to the rest of the world via the internet, thus leaving its residents in the dark when it comes to communication with the outside world.
