Sony’s Injustice Against The Non Cheaters Of Alternative O/S
When it is all said and done, I believe that Sony took the easy way out and left all the legitimate owners of PS3′s in the cold when they took the option for an alternative operating system away because of George Hotz and his band of merry hackers using the jailbreak method to cheat. In a recent move to track the jailbreak hack and ban consoles utilizing same, Sony fixed their problem. This action should have taken place instead of removing the option of an alternative O/S.
Everyone that purchased the system with the option of installing an alternative O/S is out in the cold because of a few cheaters. I utilized the alternative O/S because of the Opera Browser on the PS3 is garbage. When my main computer took a dump, it was alternate source for going on the internet, as the Opera Browser is garbage. I believe now when all is said and done, that Sony owes all of us a new browser comparable to other browsers that we could install on the alternative O/S they took away. We paid for that option and then it was just taken away.
I wonder if Sony did not over step their rights just a bit to fix the problem and violate everyone else’s in the process. When you purchase something with a feature and then they take it away, are they not doing the same thing to us as the cheaters were doing to them.
Their is a rumor in the works that Sony is creating a new PS3 that is hack proof. If thats the case, then why not release that software update to all PS3′s and give us back our alternative O/S option back, that we paid for. I am all for getting rid of the cheaters, but reluctantly so at the expense of everyone else. I think they jumped the gun for a solution and everyone else is paying the price.

Actually there is no Opera browser on the PS3. I think it’s made by Access, a Japanese company. The Wii has an Opera browser.
Don’t care who makes it, it blows.
