Anne Hathaway, or Catwoman as nerds will forever know her, has insisted that she does not intend to insult her fellow actors when she presents the Oscar ceremony this Sunday.

Hathaway will present the awards show with Spider-Man star James Franco and in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter revealed that she does not plan on following Ricky Gervais’ recent example of making fun of everyone when he presented the Golden Globes…

“I can guarantee that if you’re looking for someone to call people out, we’re not your hosts. I think that humour is really difficult to pull off, and I’m not particularly adept at it. I wouldn’t feel comfortable doing it.

Also, I don’t mean to sound overly serious, but I am the youngest host in history and I have no business being cynical or calling anyone out. I certainly haven’t earned the right to do that.”

She then shared with the interviewer her favourite Oscar moment…

“Jack Palance doing the push-ups, I can watch that forever. And the way [that year's host] Billy Crystal incorporated it into the show, [saying] ‘Jack Palance just bungee-jumped off the Hollywood sign’… All these kids from Peter Pan did this really sweet, earnest song, and Billy Crystal comes out and says, ‘Jack Palance fathered all those children’.”
