According to the UK tabloid The Sun, Oscar winning actress Renee Zellweger is in talks to play her iconic character Bridget Jones again for a proposed third movie.
Now, be wary of this news as The Sun were also the news outlet who “confirmed” that Eddie Murphy would be playing The Riddler in the next Batman movie so whoever their movie source is, well, put it this way; they’re not right all of the time…
Anyhoo, according to the source the tabloid was talking to, Zellweger is currently in negotiations and the one potential stumbling block was easily manoeuvred after her insistence that she doesn’t want to have to put on any weight for the role was accepted by producers…
“Renee had no reservations about saying yes once she found out she wouldn’t have to get fat.
She hated having to do that in the last two films.”
Apparently, Oscar winning actor Colin Firth has also expressed interest in returning for a third Bridget Jones movie while as of right now, there’s no word on whether or not Hugh Grant would do likewise.
