Food Network’s Chopped All-Stars Episode 1 Review
The Chopped All-Stars event is new to the series as all the chefs come from different Food Network shows. The Chopped series on Food Network in my opinion is exciting and fast paced. The ingredient box is by far the most challenging thing a chef can do in the allotted time frame to put out appetizers, main course and desert in 20 minutes to half an hour with complicated or ridiculous ingredients. I always thought that the judges should actually have to get in the place of contestants and try to be as creative as they expect the contestants to be in a short period of time with no game plan and absurd ingredients.
Three of the judges normally seen on the show will be in that position in this all star contest. The first contest pitted four eliminated contestants from the The Next Food Network Stars series and are as follows;
From left to right: Brad Sorensen, Debbie Lee, Lisa Garza and Michael Proietti.

Lisa Garza was eliminated first in the appetizer round for failure to get three of the four basket ingredients on the plate. The round allows 20 minutes to complete the dish.
Debbie Lee was eliminated in the main course round for dry poultry although her dish looked pretty good.
The final round was won by Michael Proietti for producing a better desert according to the judges. Alex Guarnaschelli, Marcus Samuelsson, Marc Murphy and Chris Santos are the judges for this event.
Michael will sit out until three more rounds are completed and then the winner of each round will face off for a $50,000 prize to go to the charity of their choice. If you can’t catch the next episode check here next week for coverage and results.

i am a animal lover at heart and the remark that Micheal made at the end of the show was very uncalled for i would kill a litter of puppies to win this round i am an animal advocate and am very against cruelty to animals i am not going to watch the rest of the show until you people do some thing about this matter and i think it should be done the same way in which he made that comment on the air for every body to hear
I was appalled that Michael said he wanted to win so bad (or did he say he was so happy..) that he could kill a litter of puppies.
I agree with Abby. I’ve been looking forward to seeing the judges compete, only to find 3 rejects from “The Next Food Network Star”. What a disappointment. Bring on the real chefs!
WHAT A RIP-OFF!!!
