Singer Jason Derulo has revealed to the Daily Record that he has turned down the chance to play legendary rocker Jimi Hendrix in an upcoming biopic about the iconic rock star in order to concentrate on his music career.

In the interview, Derulo revealed that he has turned down a number of offers to star in the movie…

“I’ve turned down a lot of movies and commercials and one of them was for an autobiography of Jimi Hendrix playing the main man.

That would have been really cool but I can’t do it because I’m trying to balance my album and tour.”

The 21 year old singer then revealed that he has recently been suffering from a throat condition…

“My throat doctor has put me on vocal rest for five days… If I don’t let my vocal cords heal, I may develop a serious problem. It’s such terrible timing, as I’m trying to complete my album,”
