American Idol Season 10 has been full of ups and downs this year and we are down to the final night of competition. Will Scotty McCreery or Lauren Alaina be the big winner tonight. The show has started with the usual introductions of the two finalists. We have seen the top 13 contestants sing “Born This Way” and a parody of Randy Jackson saying “in it to win it”. we should call that phrase Randy’s mantra for the season as he seems to like to use it a lot. Over 122 million votes were cast last night which proves this show still has a lot of viewers and Scotty and Lauren have tons of fans. Both of these contestants will go far no matter which one wins tonight. Ok, Jack Black came out to sing “Fat Bottomed Girls” with Casey Abrams and it was pretty funny. Beyonce is out with the girls now singing “Single Ladies” and the clock is winding down. We need to know who the winner is and they are making us wait until the very end.

8:55pm

Scotty McCreery is singing “Live Like You Were Dying With Tim McGraw and he is wearing a funny leather jacket. Tim McGraw was not a good choice for a duet with Scotty in my opinion because he makes Scotty look like a little baby in a leather jacket….lol!

9:05pm

Back from a commercial break we get another performance with none other than Marc Anthony, or Misses J-Lo as we like to call him. J-Lo must be dying for attention as she joins her husband on stage with a bunch of dancers and she looks like the Marc Anthony cheer squad leader as she pumps up the crowd. J-Lo is getting a bit older but she is WAY more sexy than Beyonce to me and I love Beyonce. You just have to give credit where credit is due in my book.

9:10pm

The guys of this year’s competition take the stage and start with a Prince song but now transition into a Tom Jones song. This number is a bit confusing as these guys are not very compatible voice wise and this number is totally lame. Finally, Tom Jones gets on stage and saves the day. Tom is amazing with is hip goatee. It is funny how Tom is still rocking and looking the same after all these years. He is a true performer.

They sure are raking in the ad dollars tonight as all these commercials get really long.

9:20pm

We are finally back and now Lady Ga Ga has come to the stage. She has already been on Idol once this year and never one to be dull is wearing some kind of freaky Geisha outfit. I like the way she keeps coming up with all these wild and fresh costumes but I really don’t care for her music. Don’t get me wrong here, I think she is masterful at creating her image and I applaud her for it. It just isn’t my style, so please don’t think I am hating on her. This is a very creative performance as she went from Geisha to belly dancer to having sex with a mountain goat. This is one creative woman who always keeps you on your toes as to what she is going to do.

9:35pm

Lauren Alaina is finally on stage to sing her duet and she is with Carrie Underwood. This is real music tome as I love Carrie’s voice and vocal style and Lauren is keeping up quite well. Lauren kinda lost it in the middle of this song but it was still ok. I think Scotty was better tonight with Tim McGraw but that isn’t saying much.

9:40pm

Oh yea! Beyonce is back. I guess she wanted to give J-Lo another run for the money as to who can shake it the best. This new song of hers is kinda weird for her. I thought I was in school again and there would be a test at the end…LOL!

9:45pm

Now we get a number from “Spiderman: Turn Off The Dark” and luckily no one was injured on live TV. WOW! J-Lo is everywhere tonight as she is playing Kirsten Dunst and re enacting the famous upside down kiss scene. J-Lo is getting some serious face time tonight, or should we say “rear end time” as we have seen a lot of her booty tonight. And that is not a bad thing at all!

9:55pm

Ryan says we are getting a surprise. WOW! It is Steven Tyler playing a solo on the piano. He is performing “Dream On” and it is ok but I would have liked to see a few more people around him. It just doesn’t seem to fit in with all the showcase type performances we have seen tonight. You still gotta love Steven though! I thought we were supposed to have Aerosmith here tonight, what happened?

10:00pm

Ok we have Scotty and Lauren on stage and Ryan gets the magical envelope that will change some one’s life tonight. He pauses, reads the letter, and announces Scotty McCreery as the winner of American Idol Season 10.  Lauren is hyperventilating and congratulates Scotty. Scotty McCreery is your American Idol for Season 10.
