Cowboys and Aliens opened yesterday and I was impressed by this movie that all the critics seem to hate. The movie has some big name actors like Harrison Ford, Daniel Craig, Olivia Wilde, Keith Carradine, and even John Wayne’s grandson, Brendan Wayne. Now this movie does seem to struggle with whether it wants to be a Sci Fi film or a Western. The script seems to be a little confusing at times but the graphics are killer. All the actors did a fine job here. I went in to this movie looking for an escape for a while and it delivered a great time. Many are criticizing Jon Favreau and his directing ability and the only reason could be they were expecting an Oscar worthy film. Cowboys and Aliens will not be an Oscar winner but that doesn’t mean it is bad. This movie is pure fun and even manages to give us a little lesson in life if you watch closely as i did. Cowboys and Aliens is a respectable movie for those looking for some original entertainment this weekend. Go see it with an open mind and you won’t be disappointed.
