Sugarland is grieving tonight along with the families of 4 people who were killed at the Indiana State Fair last night and is calling for all their fans to pray. The event was supposed to be a happy one. Instead, high winds caused a stage to collapse just moments after Sara Bareilles finished her opening act and four people were killed. Timing is everything and if this had happened just a few minutes earlier, it could have been a lot worse. Sugarland Tweeted their sorrow and asked fans to pray for the families of the victims. We contacted a representative of Sugarland and was told the band is devastated. “They are not in a great state of mind right now” was the only comment we could get from one of the road crew for Sugarland. Our source also said the stage had been checked and they were looking into what happened. “There is no information right now that suggests it was anything faulty, just a freak accident from mother nature,” our source said. Hopefully, they will be able to continue on but right now they just ask for prayer for the families of the victims.

Personal Note:
I was attending this concert and we had just walked toward the back when it happened. There was a load “groaning” type noise that came from the stage just before it collapsed. It was horrible for a few moments as everybody was running around like we didn’t know what to do. People near the stage recovered quickly and I went in to help try to sort through the entangled mess. Myhat is off to all the backstage crew and the police as they took charge in an instant and probably saved a lot of people. I don’t know the exact number of people who were injured but there were a lot of people with blood on them and some holding their arms. One guy had a huge gash on his head and me and my friends took our shirts off and held it there until a paramedic took over. He was bleeding bad but shuold be ok. I don’t even know his name but I hope he is doing well.
