HP TouchPad To Get New Life With Android OS!

HP Touchpad
The death of WebOS and the demise of the HP Touchpad seemed to make the severely discounted device a “sure fire” relic in the Tablet arena. The “fire sale” HP instigated brought out serious users and novices alike to want one of the $99 or $149 dollar Touchpads. this might not mean that his tablet will be obsolete though as a group of programmers are apparently working to bring the Android OS to the Touchpad. Eric Stevens, a dedicated reader of Nerdles, emailed me two links and I was amazed. First, Erik Hardesty announced on Twitter that he was going to develop Android for use with the Touchpad. He stated that he will be using AOSP or Android Open Source Project to try to get the operating system to work on the Tablet. This means you and the other lucky owners of a Touchpad could be cruising with Google’s Android OS and have an ultra cheap tablet. Another site has also sprung up called Touch Droid and it will be trying to bring the Android OS to Touchpad owners also. No details yet from any site as to a timeline but this is great news for everyone who got in on this “fire sale”. You can click the links above or check back here as we will bring updates on both projects as we get more details.
