Warrior is a new and updated version of “Rocky” that gives you three underdogs to cheer for and will make you feel that nothing is impossible. Tom Hardy, Joel Edgerton, and Nick Nolte play the parts of a family that has been torn apart by divorce. Nolte, who plays Paddy Conlon, is the perfect “Father with Demons”. Hardy, who plays Tommy Hardin, is a “war hero” who didn’t get recognition for his bravery and goes AWOL. Edgerton, who plays Brendon Conlon, is a mild mannered school teacher who fights part time. This story builds you up as it showcases both brothers rising to the top of the MMA world and trying for a chance at a big payday. The fight scenes in this movie are intense and very real even though it is hard to believe that no one figures out that these two are brothers. Warrior is not just a fight movie though, as we get a truly believable back story that is just enough to keep any “drama” fan interested and a message that no obstacle is too big to overcome. The climax of this movie comes in three fights that will have you cringing with each blow and also glued to the screen to see if this family will overcome its past. Warrior takes what the “Rocky” movies started and gives the viewer a “feel good” movie that will leave you cheering in the end. I would highly recommend Warrior for all action and drama fans alike.
