Season Premier DWTS 13

Dancing With The Stars is underway and we are live blogging the results as they happen. This year we have Chaz Bono, Ron Artest (Metta World Peace), Ricki Lake, David Arquette, Nancy Grace, Kristen Cavallari, Elisabetta Canalis, Chynna Phillips, Rob Kardashian, Hope Solo, Carson Kressley, and J.R. Martinez competing for the grand prize. This should be a great show so keep refreshing the page as we will be updating the performances as they happen here live.
First up is Ron Artest and he is dancing the “cha cha” with Peta Murgatroyd. Ron gave a decent performance and the judges were mixed in their review. Carrie Ann said is was eccentric but sexy while Bruno talked of his lack of techinique. They got a score of 14 out of 30. Ron Kardashian is next and he dances the Viennese Waltz with Cheryl Burke. This is another lackluster performance and the judges criticize the pair for being too stiff. They get a score of 16 out of 30.
Kristin Cavallari and Mark Ballas dance the “cha cha” and we begin to see a little glimpse of actual talent tonight. The judges see it too and give the couple a score of 19 out of 30 saying that they need to improve on their coordination a little but it was good overall. Chynna Phillips and Tony Dovolani take the stage next and give their version of a Viennese Waltz. Wow! is all i can say. Chynna Phillips is sexy and graceful. The judges have nothing but praise for this duo and give them a score of 22. Nancy Grace and Tristan MacManus ar up next with a “cha cha”. Nancy is no professional dancer and it shows. She seemed to hold back during the whole dance and the judges see it. Nancy gets a score of 16.
David Arquette and Kym Johnson are up now and do a decent Viennese Waltz. David has some choreography issues but manages a good first try. The judges tell him to work on being a little more relaxed and gave him a score of 18.
Elissabeta Canalis and Val Chmerkovsky perform a “cha cha” and she was stiff through the whole thing. the judges saw this too and gave her a 15. Next up was Hope Solo and Maksim Chmerkovsky and they performed a Viennese Waltz. This was a good first effort and the judges only talked of how she needed to “feel” the dance more. She got a 21. Carson Kressley and Anna Trebunskaya were our ninth couple of the evening and they danced a “cha cha”. Carson is masterful and graceful but lacks a little in the “techincal” department. This is the first dance of the night to get a standing ovation from the crowd but the judges only gave them a 17. J.R. Martinez and Karina Smirnoff do a Viennese Waltz. If anyone thinks soldiers can’t dance they better check this guy out. Martinez is smooth and commanding and gets a score of 22. Ricki Lake and Derek Hough attempt another Viennese Waltz and she is amazing. Ricki gets her groove on with style and receives a score of 20. Now Chaz Bono takes the stage with his partner Lacey Schwimmer and they dance a “cha cha”. Chaz proved he could dance and did a wonderful job for a first effort. If he can learn a little more and progress he will be a contender for the grand prize. Chaz gets a score of only 17 but he put forth one of the better efforts of the night.
DWTS season 13 will have the first elimination show tomorrow night at 9pm eastern time. You can also check out the “Meet The Cast” episode starting at 8pm eastern on ABC. Who do you think will be the first to go this year? let us know by leaving a comment.
