Abduction Review: Lautner Is Not A Hero
Abduction should have been a great movie since it was the first time in 6 years that John Singleton has sat in the director’s chair. Singleton still has what it takes in the directing department, but Abduction is a story that should have never been made. The visuals in this film are great and the scenes are everything you would expect from the man who gave us “Boyz N the Hood”. It falls flat everywhere else and even film veterans like Sigourney Weaver and Alfred Molina can’t make this screenplay work. The biggest problem is that the movie doesn’t take itself seriously. There is a lot of room for development when we see Lautner realize…
X Factor USA 9/22 Review: Lots Of “Bad” Talent Tonight. Is Nicole Trying Too Hard?
X Factor USA had the second show tonight and we got to see the auditions from Miami and Dallas. There were tons of “bad” acts tonight and we got a lot more “fast forward” type approvals where we only caught a glimpse of the performers. Maybe Simon wanted to save the really good ones for the actual show. On a lighter note, Nicole Scherzinger went a little overboard tonight. She came across as the “outsider” trying to be accepted with the “in crowd.” From her tearful moments to her fake southern accent, Nicole was way over the top and should just settle down and do her job. Be yourself Nicole, that is why you are…
X Factor Premier Showcases Some Real Talent
The premiere of the USA version of X Factor brought out some surprise talent tonight highlighted by one “little girl” and one great group. First, we got the introduction of the Judges and they are Paula Abdul, Nicole Scherzinger, and L.A. Reid. Simon Cowell started the show by saying, “Shut up and start singing” and we were off. There were over 20,000 people that wanted a shot at the $5 million dollar recording contract and we got to see a few that are “really dreaming” and some that are definitely worth a look. Rachel Crow was the first person up to sing. This 13 year old blew us and everybody else away with her rendition…
Survivor South Pacific 9/21 Update: One More Goes Home. Immunity Idol Found
Survivor South Pacific episode 2 gave us new challenges and another contestant was eliminated. The Immunity Idol was found by one team also. The show started with the Upolu Tribe getting a bit of a shake up as Brandon tells Coach that he is Russel Hantz’s nephew. Hantz put a hurting on Coach in a previous Survivor. Coach is now skeptical of Brandon’s motives even though Brandon tell him he is there to “redeem” the family name. The immunity challenge tonight consists of the players unraveling ribbons with keys that are attached to a pole. The keys get the other members “unlocked” from confinement and then they have to move huge puzzle pieces around until they…
Galaxy Tab 7.7 Review: Why Can’t The US Have One?
UPDATE: After getting a response from a reader. I did a little digging and found that the unit displayed at the left and the unit I tested was not the new Galaxy Tab 7.7 but was the old Galaxy Tab 7 which does not have the AMOLED display. It does show how there are shysters out there that will claim a lot of things. This unit is prominently displayed in a lot of stores in the Philippines as the Galaxy Tab 7.7 with the new specs. Now I love gadgets and when I saw this I wanted to review it. The review below is real and the unit functioned just like I described but it…
