The X Factor USA is having its second week where the viewers can cast their votes and one more contestant will be eliminated tomorrow night. Last week, the judges were unusually nice to the singers and even Simon was rather calm. Did Simon forget that the reason we love him so much is that he shoots out arrows of criticism that goes straight through the heart of some contestants? We all expect Paula and Nicole to just fawn over everybody but we want our old Simon back. Tonight, we will be posting our thoughts on the performers and what the judges say live as the action happens. The show opens with the contestants going to the premiere of Jack and Jill, a new movie by Adam Sandler.

Stacy Francis is up first and she is singing “Queen of the Night”. This is ok but it was a little slow and she didn’t seem to have the power in her voice. LA says he didn’t like the song but she did ok. Paula says she is a diva. Simon says she looks cute and suggests she is dressed a little trashy.
Marcus Canty is up next with “I’m Going Down”. He is really rocking this song tonight and it is perfect to showcase his vocal range. Nicole says he is “magic.” Simon says he is 1000% better than last week but he hated the jacket. LA says the jacket looked great and bashes Simon a little.
Drew is up next singing a ballad again I don’t recognize. Her voice is pure gold and she looks great tonight in her gown. LA says she was good but she is singing the same type songs every week. Simon says she takes risks and tells everybody she designed the dress she is wearing. He says LA needs to understand she is good with these types of songs and that is what he will keep giving her.
Leroy Bell is singing a song from the Runaway Bride. Paula and LA love this song. Simon says he sounds much younger and can easily compete with the younger crowd. He says it is his best performance so far.
Lakoda Rain get a song from “How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days”. Everybody loves them and they do sound better doing country songs.
Astro is doing a song form the “Green Mile”. He is writing his own lyrics again and Paula comments that it is a little hard for him to do that. Paula and Nicole both love it and Nicole says he is in a league of his own. Simon says he is the cat that has the cream.
Melanie Amaro takes the stage doing a song from “This is It”. She is taking an MJ song and making it her own. Her voice is fantastic. LA says is was not that inventive but it was a good job. Nicole says Simon made a brilliant song choice and she made MJ proud. Paula agrees. Simon says she was Fantastic.
Stereo Hogzz are doing a song from “Get Smart”. LA says it was good but he didn’t know the song. Nicole says it was their best performance. Simon says their choreography is great but they are not doing proper songs for who they are. Paula is clearly frustrated and defends them.
Josh Krajcik sings a song from “Across the Universe”. This guy has a voice that is powerful and makes you feel him. LA says well done. Nicole says his voice is chicken soup for the soul. Simon says the first half of the song was bad and he looked like dracula and the brides on stage tonight. Nicole defends him.
Chris Rene is doing a song from the movie Dangerous Minds. Nicole says he is channeling his life into his music. Paula says he was amazing. Simon says the real Chris is back tonight.
Rachel Crowe is doing a song from “Cadillac Records”. All I can say is WOW! LA says she is a contender after tonight’s performance. Nicole tried to compliment Simon on song choice and Rachel tell her she picked it and not Simon. Simon says he trusts Rachel and she has what it takes.
