DWTS is heading into the semi finals tonight with just four couples remaining and dancing for their lives. The Muppets will be dancing tonight as a special guest. Each contestant will have to dance 3 dances tonight and it leaves a lot of room for error. The show is starting and Hope Solo is up first with a Paso Doble. She is in so much pain she is now taking injections to ward off the pain. Len starts out the judging and he says she had attitude and aggression but lacked finesse. Bruno agrees and Carrie Ann says they nailed the character of the dance but lost a lot of control. Hope gets a 21 and Maks looked frustrated but he said it was Good when he was asked about it.
8:13pm: JR Martinez is next with a Samba and we see he twists his ankle in practice. The dance starts and they are dressed up like characters from Zorro. It looked like JR missed a couple of transitions but it was great as usual. Bruno says he could feel the thrill and excitement but the posture was not there all the time. Carrie Ann says his ankle has affected his posture and he had uncertain pauses in his dance. Len says this dance didn’t suit JR and it was more Zero than Zorro. JR gets a 23.
8:30pm: Rob Kardashian takes the floor and he is doing a Samba tonight. It was pretty good but his hands and arms were funny looking. Carrie Ann says he was flowing and fantastic. Len says “OH YES!”. Bruno says he exceeded all expectations. Rob gets a 28 and the highest score they have received yet.
8:41pm: Ricki Lake takes her turn now at the Samba. They must be channeling Big Bird tonight as they are dressed in bright yellow. This is good as usual but she look a little stiff to me. Len says she just took a giant step into the finals. Bruno says she was fantastic. Carrie Ann says her shoulders were great and the dance was great. Ricki gets a 30.
9:01pm: Hope Solo starts of the Argentine Tango round. She stumbles in a couple of places but it is ok. Len says it was a buffet of tasty morsels. Bruno says it was better and Carrie Ann says it was very ambitious. Hope gets a 24 for this dance for a total so far of 45.
9:13pm: JR is nursing a twisted ankle but he is still taking on the Argentine Tango. If he is in pain you wouldn’t know it because he is nailing this dance. Bruno says he was in latin lover mode. Carrie Ann says it was great and the lifts were great. Len says it had mood and intensity. JR gets a 27 for a total so far of 50.
9:25pm: Rob Kardashian is attempting the Tango now. He has improved a lot. Carrie Ann says you can’t fake good dancing and he was not faking tonight. Len says he is finishing strong. Bruno says he is now a leading man. Rob scores a 27 for a total of 55 so far.
9:34pm: Ricki Lake is now up. I like this dance. This has to be one of her best ever. Len says the lifts were great and Bruno says it was peerless. Carrie Ann says she has the “pop” now. Ricki gets a 29 for a total so far of 59.
9:47pm: It is time for the Cha Cha relay where they will get bonus points. 1st place will get 10, 2nd place will get 8, 3rd will get 6, and 4th will get 4 points. Ricki Lake starts it off and sets the bar high. Hope is next and she isn’t bad. JR is next and he isn’t moving as well as he has in the past. Rob Kardashian finishes with a bang. Len says tonight was like a buffet but hints he might start an argument with his choices in a moment. Carrie Ann and Bruno talk of how hard this night was and how each of these dancers really stepped up their game. Commercial break now and then we will get the scores.
Rob Kardashian gets a 10 here for a total of 65.
Ricki lake gets an 8 for a total of 67.
JR Martinez gets a 6 for a total of 56.
Hope Solo gets a 4 for a total of 49.
