X Factor USA 11-16: 10 Contestants Perform Rock n Roll

Astro Practices Rock
8:10pm: LeRoy Bell takes the stage first and his voice is great as usual. He does a Bob Seger song called “We’ve Got Tonight.” LA says his voice is good but he just doesn’t see a Rock Star on stage. Paula says he needs to be able to engage the audience more. Simon is the most critical and says it is not a 5 million dollar performance.
8:22pm:Rachel Crow does “Satifaction” from the Rolling Stones and she is great! LA says she has proven she can sell tickets and albums. Paula and Nicole both say it was one of her best songs yet. Simon clearly likes her and says she is here to win.
8:33pm: Chris Rene does Bob Marley’s “No Woman No Cry” and it is not really a rock song. Nicole says it was not his best performance. Paula love him of course. Simon says is was note really “Rock” and LA defends the song by saying Marley is in the Rock n Roll hall of fame so it is Rock. I think that is a stretch.
8:42pm: Stacy Francis does a little Meatloaf and sings “It’s All Coming Back To Me Now.” LA says it was good. Paula actually says she didn’t like this performance. Simon says she got worse this week. Nicole defends her and says she is a Rock Diva.
8:55pm: Melanie Amaro does “Everybody Hurts” and it is great! LA Reid must not know who REM is as he asks if that was Rock. Paula says we got taken to church. Nicole wonders why she wasn’t crying again. Simon says the crowd liked it.
9:02pm: Josh Krajcik comes out and Kicks a little A** tonight. He sings a song I didn’t catch but he really rocks it. LA Reid says this is what Rock Night should be. Paula says he is the best tonight. Simon uses the “Bloody Fantastic” comment again. Nicole got a little moist on this one and she was impressed.
9:14pm: Astro is doing “Every Breath I Take” from Sting. He is rapping again but it is not really Rock. He just took a rock song and made it a rap song. Nicole says it was the perfect song choice and it was great. Paula loves it. Simon says he has more maturity and intelligence than most of the other contestants.
9:25pm: Lakoda Rain does Fleetwood Mac’s “Go Your Own Way” and also another song. This is one of their best and they are really stepping it up tonight. LA says it is the first time he has seen them have fun and it was better but he is not sure if it was great. Nicole says the have found their niche and it is country rock. Simon says tonight was a complete mess. He says the dances were ridiculous. LA starts to argue with Simon about being harsh.
9:44pm: Drew is doing U2′s “Without You” and it is another slow ballad by her. She is good but these slow songs are beginning to sound like elevator music. LA says she has the most original voice of anyone on the show but she needs to break out of this cycle. Nicole says she is waiting for Drew to pick it up too and says she is frustrated. Paula says she has a big fan base but she needs to show diversity. Simon tells Drew to ignore all the other judges and keep it up.
9:55pm: Marcus Canty is singing “Take A Little Piece Of My Heart.” He is giving it a good go. Working the stage well and it clearly showing us something new. Nicole says it was raw and rocking. Paula says he is the entertainer of this season. Simon says he wasn’t really a good boy and his mentor took him to hell. He says he was pretending and it wasn’t good for him.
