X Factor USA is in the final two episodes and one lucky person will win the $5 million dollar grand prize tomorrow night. Tonight, the final three will have another solo opportunity and then we will see how well they do in a duet. Each contestant will perform a duet with an already famous singer. This will really put the pressure on Chris and Melanie because they are great by themselves but their style of singing might not be well suited for a duet. Josh should shine tonight with the duet. He is smooth and easy going so this looks to be a natural progression for him. Of course, anything can happen and we have seen all three finalist make mistakes in past weeks. The pressure is on now! Josh Krajcik is up first and we get a surprise when Alanis Morisette comes on stage. Josh looks surprised also, maybe they didn’t tell him this was the duet? Anyway, they do “Uninvited” and this is great! LA actually calls it “surreal”? Wow! Paula says he kept it cool. Simon praises Alanis but tells Josh he needs to step it up in his next song. Simon is on a roll again.
Chris Rene is partnered with Avril Lavigne and they are doing her song “Complicated”. Nicole said he was a little intimidated at first. Simon the Great says it was great when he finally kicked in with the rap!
Melanie Amaro gets to sing with R. Kelly and they do “I Believe I Can Fly.” This is not her best performance. R. Kelly is really hogging the limelight here. LA agrees with me and says she was overshadowed. DUH! Yes she was! Shame on R. Kelly! Nicole and Paula come to her rescue and Simon calls LA Grumpy and Dumpy!

Now with the duets over, there was no clear act that shined above the rest. All three had their troubles and all three were a bit of a disappointment for different reasons.

Now we start the last solo of this year by each contestant.
Josh channels Etta James with his soulful version of “At Last.” LA decides Josh is a “Rock Star” and of course Paula gets moist over him again. Simon seems a little confused but he says he appreciates the risk in doing this song and making it his own.

Chris Rene pulls out all the stops here and does his own song “Young Homie.” This brings down the house! All the judges love it! How can anybody argue with that song and how Chris pours his heart into it!

Melanie Amaro tries to redeem herself with “Listen.” She brings down the house! LA says it was a $50 million dollar song. Paula and Nicole gush as usual and Simon says she should be the winner of this season!
