Alan Wake To Get Multiple DLC Episodes In 2010

Alan Wake hasn’t even been relased on the Xbox 360 yet and already Remedy Entertainment are promising us multiple DLC post launch.
Obviously, the planned DLC will depend on the success of the game as Remedy Entertainment’s MD; Matias Myllyrinne explains…
“I think it’ll depend a lot on the audience, but certainly we want to – if we’re successful – we want to do a large ’season 2′, if you will, at some point. Right now, I’m not allowed to say what we’re doing exactly this year. But we’re going to have more than one episode come out this year.”

Titanic Is Coming At You In 3-D

Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the water…
Avatar director and official ‘King of the World’ James Cameron has revealed that a 3-D version of his smash hit Titanic will sail into cinemas in 2012.
Here’s what he said…
“We’re looking at spring of 2012 for the release, which is the 100th anniversary of the sailing of the ship. It’s never going to look as good as if you shot it in 3D, but think of it as a sort of 2.8D”.
2.8D? Doesn’t sound as catchy as 3-D does it?
Activision Announce New Spider-Man Game

Activision has revealed the title for the next Spider-Man game – Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions.
No real details are known about the game other than the title at the moment though whatever console it is being developed for, it is expected to be released sometime this year.

Anyway, Sigourney Weaver will play a vampire queen in the upcoming musical comedy Vamps.
Vamps stars Alicia Silverstone and Krysten Ritter who play two hot vampire night-clubbers whose worlds’ turn upside down when love enters their lives. Weaver will play the vampire who “turned” them.
All in all Vamps sounds dreadful…
The Hobbit To Start Filming In June – Says Gandalf

Gandalf has revealed that Guillermo Del Toro’s The Hobbit will start filming in the next three months. He posted the following on his official website (Ian McKellen’s not Gandalf’s)…
THE HOBBIT’s, two films, start shooting in New Zealand in June. Filming will take over a year. Casting in Los Angeles, New York City and London has started. The script too proceeds. The first draft is crammed with old and new friends, again on a quest in Middle Earth.

New Dead To Rights: Retribution Trailer

Namco has released a new trailer for their upcoming Dead To Rights: Retribution and if I’m honest I wish they hadn’t.
I’m not normally one to hate on a trailer but DTRR looks severely underwhelming. The visuals look clunky and the voice acting grates after only 30 seconds.
Hopefully I’m wrong and I’m reading too much into a 90 second clip but if what’s on show here is the best bits then I really worry for the game.

Before I start, let me begin with the plot description for the upcoming horror After.Life…
A young woman caught between life and death… and a funeral director who appears to have the gift of transitioning the dead, but might just be intent on burying her alive.
Pretty confusing eh?
Well, it’s not half as confusing as the trailer. Liam Neeson stars as the aforementioned funeral director while Christina Ricci plays the “young woman caught between life and death”.
Justin Long stars as the stereotypical “in-denial boyfriend who just can’t let her go”
Anyway, like I said, the trailer is pretty confusing as even though they’ve tried to portray Liam Neeson as the bad guy, he never really comes across as particularly nasty. Creepy? Yes. But nasty? Not really…
The Greatest Muppet Movie Of All Time Update!

Jason Segel (above), star of Forgetting Sarah Marshall, has signed on to star in The Greatest Muppet Movie of All Time.
Not exactly surprising when you take into consideration that he wrote the bugger.
Set for release in 2011; TGMMOAT will be directed by Flight of the Conchords co-creator James Bobin.

Perfect Dark isn’t a huge overhaul like other remakes on XBLA, but is still a solid and engaging title. FPS fans who missed out on the original would do well to check out this groundbreaking title, and hardcore fans should experience the game with the technical improvements.

Gears Of War 3 To Be Released In April 2011?

Edge are reporting that Gears of War 3 will hit retail in “early April” 2011.
They also report that Epic Games will release a teaser trailer for the game next month with a full-blown reveal set for this year’s E3.
This is what Edge had to say…
‘While it hasn’t been officially announced yet, Gears Of War 3 is currently in development at series creator Epic Games. It will continue the story set out in the first two games, which centres on humankind’s battle for survival against the nightmarish Locust Horde.’
While Edge’s “source” said…
“Microsoft’s keen to avoid a clash with Halo: Reach and wants Natal to own Christmas. That’s why we won’t be seeing Gears Of War 3 until next year, but expect a major marketing push ahead of its release.”

Ben Stiller Reveals Zoolander 2 Is In Production

Ben Stiller has revealed that work has begun on Zoolander 2.
Talking to Parade, Stiller said…
“We’ve been working on it on and off over the last six or seven years. The biggest hurdle for me personally was that Drake Sather, who created the character, passed away. He was a good friend and the lump for me was it’s hard to imagine doing it without him.”
He went on to add…
“Now my buddy, Justin Theroux, has committed to directing and writing it. So I’m excited and I think it’s going to happen. I want to be able to do something that lives up to the first one. That’s the challenge.”

The demo, which is released on the 18th of this month, sees you play through a brutal interrogation scene and then skip to a later level where you can sample the new and improved gameplay without spoiling any plot twists.

Predators Update – Some New Footage And Plenty Of Stills!

It’s not long now until the Robert Rodriguez-produced Predators hits cinemas, 7th of July to be exact and it’s shaping up to be one of the best sci-fi movies of the year.
At the opening night of the South by Southwest film festival, Robert Rodriguez showed up and showed off some new footage for the movie which is a prequel to the 1987 classic which starred Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Anyway, here’s the footage I promised in the headline; it’s basically Robert Rodriguez talking us through some footage and giving us some background on the production.

According to HitFix, Ryan Phillipe is a contender to land the role of Captain America in Marvel Studio’s upcoming The First Avenger: Captain America.
Phillipe is the latest actor to linked to the role and joins other such notables as Michael Cassidy, Chace Crawford, Scott Porter, Garret Hdlund, Mike Vogel, Chris Evans and my personal favourite John Krasinski.

An Italian website is reporting that Gran Turismo 5 will be released for the PS3 this October.
The release date, says the website, comes from a loose-lipped Sony rep at last week’s GDC in San Francisco.
