The Hunger Games Review: The Book & The Movie

The Hunger Games poster

THE HUNGER GAMES: The Book This is a best-selling trilogy of young adult novels by Suzanne Collins that were released every year since 2008. They have supposedly broken new ground in that genre and had devoted fans. Several months before the movie version of the first book came out, I was drawn to read all three books to see what the fuss was all about. The time is in the future, a post-apocalyptic time, it seems. The place is District 12, a township of sorts in the nation of Panem, where mining is the main occupation. We get to know…

Wrath of the Titans Review: Two Oscar Winning Gods Couldn’t Save This Film

Wrath of the Titans poster

2010′s “Clash of the Titans” was such a cinematic disaster. It dared to remake the cult favorite of the same title shown back in 1981 starring Sir Laurence Olivier as Zeus and Harry Hamlin as Perseus. However, all the modern technology of the next twenty years at their disposal did not make this remake a better film. Project X Official Movie Poster

What would it take to be cool? to get a shot at a girl you never thought could be yours for the night? Well, all it takes is an awesome party. That sums up about the entire plot (if it even has one) of Project X – a movie directed by Todd Philipps (director of The Hangover). The film, aside from MPAA’s rated R “for crude and sexual content throughout, nudity, drugs, drinking, pervasive language, reckless behavior and mayhem,” has been getting some bad reviews particularly for its lack of purpose and fail attempts to appear as a Hangover-like teenage-party-gone-wrong…

Ghost Rider Spirit of Vengeance Review: Hell Breaks Loose

Official poster for the movie, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance

When the Devil rises to earth… it must be Nicolas Cage morphing into a flaming skeleton, sucking the life out of the evil, guilty souls. Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance is not the movie you want to see this weekend, unless you’ve got a thing with Church sects hiring a burning skull to save the world from doom and the prophesies of the coming of the third anti-Christ. Picking up from the first Ghost Rider installment, we find Johnny Blaze (Nicolas Cage) in a hermit-leave-me-alone existence somewhere in Eastern Europe as he struggles to hold the curse of the flaming…
