60th Anniversary of ‘The Day the Earth Stood Still’ Classic

The 60th anniversary of the ‘The Day the Earth Stood Still’ will be celebrated on AMC this Friday at 9:00 pm ET. It is really hard to believe the movie is that old? What was so wonderful about old movies was the fact that they lacked the technology and special effects goodies that are common place in today’s films, so they relied on the unseen and the viewer’s imagination to supply the edge of your seat drama that made these movies so great. From some reason Fox have decided that the first two Fantastic Four movies were so bad that a complete retooling of the franchise is necessary but in my opinion, both movies captured the…

Sam Worthington Confirmed For Dracula Reboot

Avatar, Terminator Salvation and Clash of the Titans star Sam Worthington has finally been confirmed to star in Dracula: Year Zero. According to producer Mike De Luca… “These writers came up with the ingenious – what I think is ingenious – approach combining historical Dracula with Bram Stoker’s Dracula. I think vampires are endlessly appropriate candidates for reinvention because there’s something in the DNA in that mythology that appeals to every generation. Every generation owns their own version of the vampire myth.” It seems that Worthington’s name is everywhere lately. If he’s not careful he could find himself over-exposed.
