Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides Review: 3D Is Only Good Thing About This Movie

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides is proof positive that too many sequels ruin a movie. Pirates of the Caribbean 4 was shot in masterful 3D and will give you lots of bang for your extra 3D buck. Disney spared no expense in this sequel and the action and sets are colorful, well designed, and above average. This sequel seems empty though as Captain Jack Sparrow, played by Johnny Depp, seems to be running out of steam with no new material. We have seen all of his antics in the first 3 of the Pirates series and you will see nothing new here. This movie was made with only one thing in mind: Disney…

A Glimpse into the Future of Hollywood Cinematography Via Sci-Fi & Fantasy

Spiderman reboot in the works and the villain in the web slinger’s return is none other than The Lizard, born in 1963, the reptilian alter-ego of research scientist Dr. Curt Connors. Dylan Baker will play the scaled creature in the Spidey flick. The bummer is the absence of Mary Jane Watson. Say what you will, but the fact of the matter is Red will be missed if not by everyone, than by myself as I am partial to redheads and she is a staple for me when it comes to Spidey flicks. The reason for the change is rather apparent though as the setting is early Spiderman days and the love of the moment is Gwen Stacy,…

The cast of “Harry Potter” speaks

Emma Watson, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint talk about wrapping up 10 years of hard work after finishing the last installment of the wizardly series, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.” They told Empire magazine in the U.K. that this film is more emotional than the others in the series. The film took 18 months to complete and it is split into two parts. According to Watson, the second part is a more emotional film making it more difficult to shoot. “The emotional stuff is much harder,” she said. “These last two films have been on a completely different level in terms of what they’ve demanded from me physically and emotionally.” Daniel Radcliffe spoke about…

Piranha 3D Sequel Gets The Go Ahead

Piranha 3D may not have set any records at the box office but that hasn’t stopped a sequel from being announced. Opening with a slim ten million dollar weekend, it’s a bit of a surprise that Dimension Films have announced that they are working on a sequel. Though when you consider that Piranha 3D had a budget of 24 million dollars you’ve got to assume that when you add worldwide box office receipts, DVD/Blu-ray sales and TV rights that Piranha 3D is going to end up being a very profitable little fishy for the studio. Producer Mark Canton revealed that he can’t wait to get to work on the sequel… “We are thrilled that audiences…
