The Voice Recap: Pop, rock & reggae flourish in Menlik Zergabachew & Troy Ritchie battle (10/14/14)

Night 2 of The Voice’s battle rounds was a fantastic extension of two of last night’s patent feats: the creative process involving the coaches and guest mentors as well as the flawless execution of lessons learned by the artists. Tonight, the small tweaks employed by Gwen Stefani and hubby Gavin Rossdale created a brilliant fusion of pop, rock and reggae that made Menlik Zergabachew and Troy Ritchie the coolest dudes in the battles. Last night, Alicia Keys’ brilliance was key to the best duet (Luke Wade vs. Griffin); tonight, the honor went to Gwen and Gavin with the unusual pairing…

The Voice Recap: Alicia Keys lets Luke Wade & Griffin loose on Paul McCartney hit (10/13/14)

The battle round debuted tonight on The Voice; so far, this may just be the most smashing season in terms of guest mentors and the duets. Adam Levine brought in the legendary Stevie Nicks, Blake Shelton enlisted country chart toppers Little Big Town, Gwen Stefani engaged husband Gavin Rossdale and Pharrell had R&B all-around hitmaker Alicia Keys (photo in this recap). Coming off from watching The…

The Voice Recap: Beth Spangler’s unconventional style sparks intense Adam-Pharrell battle (10/6/14)

The final night of The Voice’s blind auditions will be remembered as the most trying times for hopeful artists appearing this season and also the most entertaining for us fans. With just two spots available in each team, the coaches became more discerning with their picks. And then there’s Blake Shelton gawkily grooving to a No Doubt hit after nabbing an artist over Gwen Stefani. Best of all was the unexpected performance from Beth Spangler (photo in this recap) who imbibed a Beyonce hit, elicited a 4-chair turn and sparked a fiery battle between Adam Levine and Pharrell Williams. Beth’s…
