Trek Nation Review: A Journey Of A Son And A World
Trek Nation follows the Star Trek philosophy with a son “going boldly where he had never gone before” as Rod Roddenberry finds his father in the legacy he left behind. This documentary is one of discovery. Not only do the viewers get inside views on the mind and thoughts of Gene Roddenberry, but we also see his son, Rod, finding a father he never knew. There have been many Star Trek focused documentaries over the years but Trek Nation is the first this reviewer has seen that goes from the beginning to the end. Well, at least the end of a man’s life but Star Trek and Gene Roddenberry will live on in the legacy…
Commander Kelby (Derek Magyar) Talks Star Trek And SciFi (Interview)
Derek Magyar is a man living his dream. Doing something he says “always felt right to me”, Derek has the pleasure of working at a job he loves. He is not content with just staying in front of the camera and is the Director/Producer of the new film “Flying Lessons” that is to be released soon. More about that project and others he is involved with can be found below. Nerdles never misses the chance to talk Sci Fi or Star Trek with anyone and we jumped at the chance to interview Commander Kelby from the hit TV series Enterprise. We want to thank Derek in advance here for taking the time to speak with…
William Shatner Hosts “The Captains” DVD Featuring Captains Of The Enterprise
With the 45th Anniversary of Star Trek approaching fast, Entertainment One is getting in on the celebration by releasing a documentary called “The Captains” on DVD. William Shatner, Captain James T. Kirk, wrote and directed this documentary. Shatner tries to find an answer as to why his role as Captain Kirk is the one thing he is most recognized for even though he has so many other seemingly larger credits under his belt. The DVD promises vintage footage and up close and personal interviews with several “Captains” of the USS enterprise. Patrick Stewart, from Star Trek Generations, Kate Mulgrew, from Star Trek Voyager and Nemesis, Avery Brooks, from Star Trek Deep Space Nine, Scott Bakula,…
Star Wars Clone Wars Season 4 Premiere Raises The Bar Once Again
The Star Wars series “The Clone Wars” gave us another exciting premiere with the 4th season opening of the “back to back” episodes “Water War” and “Gungan Attack”. Each new season of this series has opened with an “epic” battle and this year was no exception with the graphic opening salvo taking place under water. Nerdles got responses from fans that watched the premiere and if they are a gauge of the show’s success this year, Star Wars Clone Wars Season 4 will be a hit for the Cartoon Network. The focus on the Gungans was talked about by Jeremy from South Dakota when he stated, “I was never really interested in the Gungans but…
Tim Griffin Talks About Star Trek: “Dying for J. J. Abrams Was An Honor”
With the 45th Anniversary of Star Trek coming up, we sat down with Tim Griffin for an exclusive interview to talk about what the series and the movies meant to him. The “Star Trek” reboot of 2009 may have been a love-it or hate-it movie for Trekkies, but for Tim Griffin, playing the role of a Kelvin engineer it was the dream of a lifetime. An old-school “Star Trek” fan, Griffin told me in an interview recently that he only liked the original “Star Trek,” with Captain Kirk and Spock. He didn’t care for the New Generation and all those story lines — those three short seasons with the original characters were what he watched…
